Christina Lee

Space Sciences Lab, UC Berkeley

Christina Lee first became interested in the space and planetary sciences thanks to the many fascinating photos in the National Geographic magazine that her mother subscribed to. Although her parents wanted her to pursue a "more practical" degree and become a doctor, Christina wanted to pursue her heart's desire: planetary science. She received her double B.A. degrees in Physics and Astrophysics from UC Berkeley in 2002 and is currently attending graduate school at UC Berkeley in the Department of Earth & Planetary Science. She is interested in (too) many topics pertaining to Mars, Saturn, Saturn's moon Titan, and many other planetary bodies in the solar system, and is currently focusing her research on the solar wind and solar energetic particles. Although she is in the process of getting her graduate degree, she hopes to gain more experience in teaching and inspiring females to pursue the sciences.
