    Hi Theresa,

I think you could probably put in any location in place of Florida and ask the same question. Worldwide, fewer people see total solar eclipses because the path that the moon's shadow casts on the Earth is very thin. You really have to be in the right place at the right time, AND hope that the skies are clear for the few minutes of totality. People spend lots of money to travel to faraway places with the hope of seeing a total solar eclipse.

Luckily for Americans, there will be a total solar eclipse that will travel across the United States on August 21, 2017. It won't go through Florida though, but you can get in a car and drive north to see it. You can see the exact path of the eclipse at http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa....17Aug21Tgoogle.html.

2017 might sound like a long time from now but I'll bet you that hotels along the eclipse path will book up years in advance. I know I'm already planning my trip to see the eclipse!
