    What is the true color of a sunspot if its now really black like we see from Earth?

    Hi

    The "true" or apparent color of the Sun is considered yellowish white. Sunspots would appear yellow-orange. But NEVER look at the Sun directly. That would damage your eyes. We also need to filter out a lot of the sunlight.

    Hi; As Paulette said, the sunspots would be yellow-orange compared to the solar surface which would be yellow-white. The sun is almost a bit green on a really true color scale. The colors help indicate temperature; sunspots are cooler than the rest of the surface, so they are more orange than yel low/green. -KD

    p.s. The Sun shines like about 4 trillion trillion lightbulbs. Thinking about that, it reinforces - do not look at the sun directly!
